MICHIANA'S BEST AND BRIGHTEST!

The mission of Junior Achievement is to educate and inspire young people to understand and embrace the free enterprise system.

Junior Achievement of Michiana is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching students K-12 financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills and workforce preparedness education.  We accomplish this through the implementation of fun, hands-on programming in the school classroom.

During these programs, second grade students are trying to find the perfect business to integrate into their (fictional) community by examining the local needs of their community members.  Fifth graders are learning the basics and importance of business planning.  And, middle school students are experiencing first-hand how to budget with an assigned fictional career, salary and expenses.  JA's high school programming ranges from lessons and activities on personal success and finance, workplace skills, or may offer realistic business simulations.

All of JA's programs are led by a community volunteer with the support and training of JA staff.  JA provides all the curriculum and materials for the program!  All programs are financially supported by individuals, foundations, and business contributions within the community.  The average cost per program is $600.
